Bauke Andriessen

Bauke Andriessen began his career at Groeneveld Opticians (in 1979) through a regional optician's school. He quickly developed an interest in contact lenses, which he primarily pursued after completing his (then) mandatory military service.

Since 1989, I have worked at the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Dordrecht, where I had my own contact lens practice until December 31, 2025, in partnership with the ophthalmologists who work continuously. From 2026, my share in this practice was taken over by Oculenti.
From that point on, I still work for Oculenti three days a week on a "loan basis."
In this practice, I have a diverse patient base. The medical side is more patient-oriented, and the cosmetic side is more client-oriented.
They range from "simple" myopes and hyperopes to the more "complex" keratoconus, corneal, and scleral patients. with of course also many myopia control patients for the past +/- 10 years.
