Marcel Levi

Marcel Levi is Professor of Medicine at the UvA and UCL and works as an internist at Amsterdam UMC. He was CEO of University College London Hospitals until April 2021. Here he led nine London hospitals during the corona crisis. Before that, he was chairman of the board of the University Medical Hospital in Amsterdam for many years. Today, Marcel is chairman of the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO), one of the main science funders in the Netherlands. In 2016, he was named Dutchman of the Year by Elsevier. Marcel regularly shares his views on healthcare in the Netherlands in the media.
