Patrick van Veen

Patrick van Veen (1970) is a Dutch behavioural biologist, he wrote several bestsellers with titles as Help, my boss is a gorilla and Monkey see Monkey do about the comparison between human and primate behaviour.

He is a trainer, management consultant and keynote speaker. However, he is also a passionate researcher studying bullying behaviour in primate groups and school classes. He does also research with chimpanzees to study the basic motivations in cooperation and communication.

In the Netherlands he is a requested behavioural expert for the media.

Since 2008 he has been involved in the work and institute of the English ethologist Dr. Jane Goodall. From 2013 to 2021, he was a board member and chairman of the Jane Goodall Institute Global, which is internationally committed to the protection and welfare of chimpanzees and their natural habitats, and he is still affiliated with the institute as a chimpanzee and behavior expert.
